Genevieve Spends Fun Time With "Act The Part" Winner Bola Suru

It was an exciting weekend for 18-year-old aspiring actress, Bola Suru, who emerged winner of “Act The Part,” an online acting competition overseen by star actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Suru, a university admission-seeker, beat two other finalists, Michael Akan and Chioma Okoye, to the prize of an exquisite makeover and VIP dinner with Nnaji, courtesy of Amstel Malta.

The competition, “Act The Part,” is an activation for the Amstel Malta brand, which the actress has been contracted to promote.

The deal had required fans to act any role from a selected movie of their choice in just two minutes and upload to the brand’s website.

Staying true to her promise, Nnaji, last Saturday, treated Suru to a superb dinner at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Amstel Malta ambassador, who was clad in a mustard-colour dress by Halston and Heritage, shared fun memories with the aspiring actress and talked about her thriving real estate business.

Suru, who could not contain her joy, had this to say:

“I’ve never felt like this in all the 18 years of my life. This is practically the best day of my life and I can’t thank Amstel Malta enough for this”, she said joyously.

Apparently overwhelmed by her mentorship role, Genevieve too expressed excitement for the initiative. “I’m very glad and thankful to Amstel Malta to have given me this opportunity to meet this amazing young woman. She’s certainly a bundle of talent and I’m willing to support her acting career in every way I can,” she said.

We wish Suru all the best in her chosen career.

Ebola Outbreak-Two Nollywood Actors Isolated In Seychelles

As the world battles hard to contain the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus, two Nollywood actors, Kunle and Gabriel Afolayan were isolated at the airport in Seychelles. As Americans always say; this ain’t funny anymore! Please read the rest of the story as narrated by Kunle Afolayan:

“We landed in the Republic of Seychelles safe and sound. Gabriel and I were isolated from the other Kenyan crew that went we us and we were made to sign plenty forms because we came from West Africa (Ebola region). Gabriel didn’t have his yellow fever card, so he had to do a test the following day and take the result back to the health section of the airport. Thanks to SBC for the rescue and warm welcome,” Kunle stated.

Kunle and his brother are in Seychelles to shoot a movie.

May God help us ooo...

Dud Cheque Controversy Takes A New Turn As Cleric Cautions Fr. Mbaka

Following last week’s dud check claim made by Fr. Mbaka against Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; a cleric has advised him to ‘concentrate’ on his affairs.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province has cautioned Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka to concentrate on the affairs of his Archdiocese in Enugu, and stop prying into the business of Owerri’s Archdiocese.

Rev. father Mbaka had, last week, stirred the hornet’s nest, alleging that Governor Rochas Okorocha had once issued the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri a N50 million dud cheque for repair of Maria Assumpta Cathedral Church, Owerri.

The Archdiocesan Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Patrick Ibole, who gave the warning, not only regretted the controversy, but also noted that Mbaka was not a priest of the Archdiocese and should not have any business in such matters.
“Rev. Fr. Mbaka should restrict his restrictions to Enugu Diocese and instigate bad feelings in Owerri. Fr. Mbaka does not have the facts and should not talk about what he doesn’t know,” Fr. Ibole said.

I am sure we have not heard the last on this controversy.

Shocking! As Boxing Promoter In S*x-change

Does the name Frank Maloney ring a bell? Well he was the man who managed Lennox Lewis to the World Heavy Weight Title. He recently told a UK newspaper The Sunday Mirror that he is now living as a woman and calls herself Kellie.

This is interesting; read more from the 61 year old himself/herself lol:

“I was born in the wrong body and I have always known I was a woman,” she said.

“I can’t keep living in the shadows, that is why I am doing what I am today. Living with the burden any longer would have killed me.”

Maloney also managed David Haye, another British heavyweight who went on to win the world title.

She said she suffered crippling bouts of depression and heavy drinking as she struggled to come to terms with the situation.

"I have never been able to tell anyone in boxing," she said.

“Can you imagine me walking into a boxing hall dressed as a woman and putting an event on?

“I can imagine what they would scream at me. But if I had been in the theatre or arts world nobody would blink an eye about this transition.”

Different strokes for different folks...

Shocking! Mother of Twins Strangulated To Death Day After Delivery

This is truly shocking as a woman who was recently delivered of a set of twins was alleged to have been strangulated to death a day after delivery.

Read the rest of the story:

A woman identified as Titilayo Kola was yesterday strangulated to death allegedly by her husband a day after she was delivered of twins.

Sources revealed that the incident took place at the couple’s apartment at No 23, Temidire Street, Ajowa area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Findings further revealed that the deceased’s husband, one Mr. Kola, popularly known in as Melomelo (how many, how many), had escaped with the twins even as he was reported to have slept in the same room with his late wife, their new twins and other four children the night before the incident.

Narrating the incident to journalists, the landlady of the deceased, who simply identified herself as Mama Aluko, said, “Titilayo was delivered of a set of twins at midnight on August 7. I was with her to help with the children and other things. Her husband, who has not been living with her for some time now, also came around, while her mum too was also around.

“Around 8:30 in the evening, her mother told me she would be going for night vigil in her church. So, it was her husband, herself and their new twins that I left before I went to bed that night.

“This morning (August 9), I woke up planning whether to prepare Semovita or fufu for Titilayo. It was around that time somebody came to inform me that they couldn’t wake Titilayo up and that her husband and the twins had disappeared.”

Asked about other family members of the couple, the landlady said she didn’t know much about them, adding that Kola (the husband) came to rent the apartment about a year earlier, but, however, stopped living with his wife a few months after they moved into the apartment.

Confirming the development, the Ekiti State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Victor Babayemi, said: “It is a case of homicide and child stealing. The deceased was found dead on the bed in quite a suspicious circumstance, and the prime suspect is the husband of the woman who we haven’t seen.

“So, we have a case of homicide and child stealing on our hands and we have commenced investigation.”

How sad, what a cruel world we live in... ummmm
